i ndia Chapter talks about a future 'disrupted' The India Chapter of CoreNet Global held its 5th annual chapter conference in Bengaluru in June, focusing primarily on the future of – and solutions for – digital disruption, but also covering topics such as the new economic environments, space utilization, jobs in corporate real estate (CRE) and the India Chapter itself. During the event, chapter members nominated for CoreNet Global awards were announced. Praveen Vasudeva of CISCO was nominated for the Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year Award, and Harshvardhan S. of Uber India Systems Pvt. Ltd. was nominated for the Young Leader of the Year Award. The keynote address was given by R. Chandrashekhar, IT industry veteran and former Nasscom president. Middle e ast Chapter and bif M hold joint events The CoreNet Global Middle East Chapter in June held a joint event with the United Arab Emirates chapter of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM UAE), focusing on two key topics. "Embodying Biophilic Design" provided an overview of biophilia and human spaces through history. The speaker, Dragana Cemalovic Ndedu, B.ID M.F.A., an associate at Bluehaus Group, explored the geographical impact of biophilic design as well as its global impact in the workplace, public spaces and the hospitality industry. An introductory session of "The Working Sm@rt Method" also was held. The method is a "flexible and practical" combination of behavior-changing techniques, best practice tools and processes that promises to transform the way people work. The speaker for that session was Adriaan du Plessis, CHRMP, operations manager at Priority Management. Two honored by Northern California chapter Jay Bechtel, left, real estate project executive at Google, Inc., was named Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year and Bob McIntire, founder of Nova Partners, Inc., was named Service Provider of the Year by the Northern California chapter of CoreNet Global. The two will be honored at the organization's 21st annual CRE Awards Gala in November in San Francisco. The CRE Awards is the chapter's flagship event. Chapter event well-attended in New e ngland The New England Chapter of CoreNet Global recently held a FutureForward 2025 session at the University of Massachusetts Club in downtown Boston. With more than 50 people in attendance, the session was moderated by workplace strategist and board member of the New England Chapter, Lisa Killaby. Midwest Chapter hears a fairy-tale success story The CoreNet Global Midwest Chapter's April program was titled, "A Cinder- ella Story: The Transformation of Baker Center," which reviewed the repositioning and marketing of a historic office building in downtown Minneapolis.
