the lea D er December 2018 7 M E S S A G E F R O M T H E C H A I R M A N David Kamen, MCR.h Chairman Americas Real Estate Services Leader | Business Enablement Ernst & Young LLP I t's that time of year again when we ring in a new year, make resolutions we're unlikely to keep, and reflect upon how fast time goes. It's also the time when our CoreNet Global memberships are about to expire. Reflecting back on how many benefits the association has added in recent years, it's a no-brainer for me to renew. And no, I'm not just saying that because I'm the chairman. But there is an intangible benefit to belonging to CoreNet Global, a feeling that comes with being a part of this association when you truly get engaged. That's what I value the most. It's hard to quantify but easy to explain. The association is all about community, expanding knowledge beyond real estate, and building and developing a network of peers to learn and grow with throughout the course of our careers. This occurs at a local level, a global level, both virtually and in person. The richness of those connections has sustained me throughout my career. If that hasn't convinced you to break out your credit card, then consider these new opportunities to make the most of your membership in 2019: • QPCR, the Qualified Professional of Corporate Real Estate designation • Mentor Match, a mentor-mentee pairing service • CNGtv, available on YouTube and • What's Next? Podcast Channel, available on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon Alexa • InternConnect, a new internship platform • eLeader, a weekly news digest As we have wrapped up our FutureForward 2025 strategic initiative aimed at making forecasts about how members will want to belong, convene, learn and consume information and content in the year 2025 and beyond, it's been encouraging to see the passion members – both new and old – have about this organization. (More on this in the next issue of the LEADER.) With the evolution of the corporate real estate profession coupled with the rapid pace of global, economic and cultural changes, this association is the platform to help all of us figure out what's next. Now more than ever, we are about shaping the human experience in spaces and places where work gets done. Associations like CoreNet Global keep the human experience at the heart of what they do. And I'm very grateful for that. I hope you plan to renew so that you remain part of a dynamic organization and part of the association that helps change the profession. I'd welcome the opportunity if you're interested in talking more about the association or membership. Please send me an email at Renew today! David Kamen, MCR.h Chairman CoreNet Global
