Members on the Move h ere are a few of the things happening at CoreNet Global Association Roundup b razil Chapter talks impact of logistics and distribution The complete logistics chain in Brazil, from owner to end user, was the focus of a recent meeting held by the Brazil Chapter of CoreNet Global with 87 participants, including major players in the Brazilian market. Moderating the event was Fernando Terra, director of Latin America Industrial & Logistics Services at CBRE, who presented an overview of the market. Representing multiple players in logistics and distribution were developer Ricardo Antonelli, senior vice president and chief developer at GLP; transportation professional Plinio B. Pereira, vice president of business development Brazil of DHL; and, representing the end user, Celio Gurgel, senior manager of real estate for Pepsico/Latin America. Cameron Ahrens joins BGIS as head of Facilities Management, Asia. Cameron joins BGIS from CBRE, where he was executive director of Global Workplace Solutions APAC. Amy Hoffman, IIDA, LEED AP, workplace leader for interiors, Denver, at DLR Group, has been appointed principal. Shown, left to right, are Celio Gurgel, Ricardo Antonelli, Plinio Pereira, and Fernando Terra. a ustralia Chapter re-imagines real estate During its 2018 Annual Conference, the Australia Chapter of CoreNet Global challenged participants to re-imagine real estate and to reconsider the future of the corporate real estate (CRE) profession in light of technology, converging disciplines, disintermediation and changing demographics. Experts discussed the potential impact on CRE of artificial intelligence, robotics, nanotechnology, blockchain and quantum computing, and on the way we work, live and interact with each other. Participants also examined the way technology is changing organizational structures, human resources practices, workplaces, real estate assets and the built environment. Four key topics were covered at length: robotics, emotional intelligence, artificial intelligence and learning. 8 December 2018 the lea D er CBRE Group, Inc., has appointed Darcy Mackay as global director of human resources, overseeing HR activities for a workforce of more than 80,000. Currently, she is president of CBRE's Global Workplace Solu- tions West Division. Effective January 1 next year, that role will be filled by Kevin Kraiss, who most recently has been senior managing director of Global Workplace Solutions West Division. David Mirmelli, MCR, has been named AVP, Corporate Real Estate – Asia Pacific, for Cognizant. Previously, he was with BMC Software. Craig Robinson has joined WeWork as global head of Enterprise Services for Powered By We. He is the former CEO of Global Corporate Services at Newmark Knight Frank. Susan Wagner, MCR, a 20-year Microsoft real estate veteran, has been promoted to senior direc- tor of International Real Estate and Facilities at Microsoft. Jill Zunshine, SLCR, has been named senior vice president and head of Global Real Estate, Facilities and Procurement, at Takeda. During the event, six future CRE leaders gave presentations on topics that each one is passionate about. Presenters were, from left to right, Tica Hessing (workplace), Simon Darmody (talent), Bryan Froud (blockchain), Kelly Slessor (artificial intelligence), Janaki Dhagat (sustainability), and Phoebie Amos (tech/big data).
