They came from all points north, south, east and west—from the United Kingdom and Scandinavia to Canada and Australia, and from all corners of the U.S. On 29 July, eight teams from various corporations convened on the campus of Harvard University to compete for the 2015 H. Bruce Russell Global Innovator's Award (GIA). The projects— from the world's first truly SMART building to a reimagined and repurposed limestone mine; from carpet tiles created out of fishing nets to facility redesigns that elevate the customer experience— were judged by a panel of esteemed corporate real estate (CRE) leaders and academicians.
