Curtis Knapp and Kay Sargent, IIDA, LEED AP, have joined HOK as senior vice presidents, and Senior Vice President Gordon Wright has a new role. Based in Dal- las, Knapp is director of HOK's global consulting group. Sargent, in Washington, D.C., and Wright, located in San Francisco, are directors of HOK's Strategic Accounts practice. Sean Prasad, formerly with T-Mobile, has been named Senior Vice President for Enterprise Solu- tions at Cushman & Wakefi eld in the fi rm's Seattle offi ces. Luigi Sciabarrasi, MCR, is now Senior Director of Global Real Estate and Workplace Services at Imperva in Redwood Shores, California. He was formerly at Cushman & Wakefi eld. Helmut Weih, SLCR, is now head of Corporate Real Estate Management at GEA Group AG in Düsseldorf, Germany. He was formerly with CBRE. Pay Wu, MCR, SLCR, has been named Senior Vice President of North American Corporate Real Estate CRM at TD Bank in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. She previously was with American Express. Members on the Move Association Association Roundup Roundup Association Roundup india conference focuses on maturity of corporate real estate profession Nearly 200 attendees fi lled the ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru, India, for CoreNet Global's 3rd annual India conference in June. Carrying the theme, "Corporate Real Estate in India: Coming of Age," the event welcomed keynote speaker Arun Shourie, a veteran journalist and author, and former economist with the World Bank. Shourie encouraged the group to assess the impact of the Indian economy on corporate real estate and the challenges that the current economy poses for the country's GDP, private investments and bank- ing environment. He advised those who measure the country's economy to take care in gauging its "real temperature" using independent research rather than government-released fi gures. Other speakers at the event included Angela Cain, CoreNet Global CEO; Sanjay Dutt, managing director in India for Cushman & Wakefi eld; George McKay, South Asia Director for Colliers International; and Ram Chandnani, leader for CBRE's Transaction Services business in India. Varcoe co-authors Harvard business review paper Barry Varcoe, Ph.D., the 2009-2010 chair of CoreNet Global and a longtime member of the association, was recently featured in a digital edition of Harvard Business Review. Varcoe, head of Group Services for Zurich Insurance Company Ltd., co-authored the paper, "A Simple Way to Test Your Company's Strategic Align- ment" with Professor Jonathan Trevor, associate professor of Management Practice at Oxford University's Saïd Business School. The content of the paper looked at how company executives might answer questions on how well their business strategy supports the fulfi llment of their companies' purpose, and how well their organizations support the success of their respective business strategy. Varcoe is responsible for all Group Services at Zurich, including corporate real estate (CRE) and facilities management, document logistics, procurement, security and strategic sourcing. He holds a Ph.D. in corporate real estate from Glasgow Caledonian University. Mid-atlantic Chapter broadcasts live education event with New York, UK chapters Corporate real estate (CRE) and related professionals from around the globe gathered for a live broadcast earlier this year to share case studies about the critical role of CRE in mergers and acquisitions. Panelists discussed best practices, lessons learned, valuable due-diligence insight and other trends during pre and post-merger integration as it relates to CRE portfolios. The event was hosted by the CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic Chapter in collaboration with the CoreNet Global New York City and UK chapters. AOL provided the broadcast technology in AOL offi ce locations.
