ThE lEadER SEPTEMBER 2017 11 Australia Chapter mulls workplace evolution With the theme, "Workplace Futures – Are We on the Right Track?" the Australia Chapter of CoreNet Global in June brought in four industry leaders to refl ect on workplace plan- ning's history as well as current trends. Gathering in Sydney, the panel also discussed how corporate real estate should be thinking about the evolution of workplace in the years ahead. Among the questions debated: • Are current workplaces responding to the right drivers? • What are the really important things to be considered in planning new workplaces? • How well are we positioned for the future? Moderated by Chris Alcock of Six Ideas (formerly SpaceLogic), the panel was formed of Rosemary Kirkby, principal at Rosemary Kirkby & Associates; James Grose, CEO of BVN; Gijs Nooteboom, managing partner at Veldhoen + Company; and Tica Hessing and Chris Marrable, both of Strategic Consulting at Cushman & Wakefi eld. Member honored by New England Chapter golf event The New England CoreNet Global chapter in July held its 17th Annual Charitable Golf Tournament in honor and memory of member Dan Pleines, the Chapter's beloved friend, golf committee chairperson, and board member who passed away in May. Proceeds raised will be donated in Pleines' memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the charity chosen by the family.
