Andrea Wolf, MCR.w, SLCR, has been named managing director of Strategy & Innovation at Colliers Advisory Services at Colliers International Canada in Toronto. Despina Katsikakis has been appointed by Cushman & Wakefield in a full-time role as global head of occupier business performance. Katsikakis formerly was interim global head of workplace for Barclays and an independent adviser to a range of international corporate clients and real estate investors. Cushman & Wakefield in Singapore has appointed Chua Ming Lee to head its account management and service lines for its Global Occupier Services business in Asia Pacific. She comes to C&W from Unilever, where she was the director of global real estate. Nikos Liapis joins Targus as director of business development for Large Enterprise. He formerly was with Steelcase as the director of Global Client Collaboration. Here are a few of the things happening at CoreNet Global Members on the Move Association Roundup a ustralia Chapter looks at connectivity and the future The Australia Chapter of CoreNet Global held its annual conference in Melbourne in early September, with the theme, "Humans in the Connected World." Highlights from the event included a keynote speech by Dr. Catherine Ball, an international science consultant whose focus is on global projects where robotics and new technology meet environmental protection. Also at the event was the first Future Workplace "Hackathon" competition, which invited engineers, graphic designers, entrepreneurs, marketers, students, and other transformational talents to help shape the future workplace. Teams competed for one of three category prizes consisting of $2,000 each, as well as an additional $4,000 for the overall winner. Co-working disruption is event focus in China The China Chapter of CoreNet Global discussed "How Co-Working is disrupting the traditional work place" at its August chapter event in Shanghai. The group looked into the current status of co-working and the evolvement of its business form, including the notion that large companies have developed their own specialties and advantages. Four speakers led the discovery of flaws, pinpointing of strengths, and exploration of future possibilities of co-working. They were Dominic Penaloza, chief innovation officer at naked Hub; Jiao Jiao, senior project design manager for Property and Facility Management at The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited; Xiang Li, vice general manager at Shanghai HUANYU Urban Investment & Development Co., LTD.; and Francisco Nicolas, senior interior designer at naked Design Studio. A roundtable discussion also focused on: • How co-working differentiates from the traditional workplace and what advantages it brings to corporate end users • What corporate real estate needs from co-working space and how co- working can meet the demand of corporate real estate • Perspectives on the future trends of co-working • How unique design adds value to co-working a lso in China: tour of smart-building technology Members of the China Chapter of CoreNet Global were presented with demonstrations of new smart-building technologies in an event held jointly by Johnson Controls (JCI) and CBRE in China. Advanced Solution Manager Brandon Yin from JCI and partner Shane Guan from CBRE provided insights into the building technologies at Johnson Controls' APAC campus and headquarters in Shanghai (in photo) during an extensive tour of the facility.
